On the way to the pottery studio, I pick weed from my neighbors' yards in order to imprint them on the lobes. It's a nice spring project. Happy Spring to everyone from rainy Rapid City!

At the pottery studio I've been frequenting, people call him "Little Buddha." In preparation for my next sculpture show, I'm going to make a few more little Buddhas. This one is holding a lotus bud, the next one will have a butterfly on his sleeve, and the third will be with a baby bird in his hands.
I made these while showing my friends how to make a simple figurine in a play session. They came out rather cute.
This year's self-assigned homework is to learn to sculpt the upper body. Artists sometimes make the hands and feet intentionally big for the body. Well, mine was not intentional, but hopefully the mistake will add the impression of strong determination to the sculpture.
