I was worried that this first standing figure would crack during the kiln firings. It was a relief to find out only a hairline crack formed on one of the ankles. It was easy to fix it.
I intend to add a background painting to this piece. Among thousands of sculptures, how can I make this ordinary looking figure more noticeable? I am not sure if a background image will work, but it will not hurt to try it.

Yoko, She is absolutely charming! She would be a delight for anyone to live with, and she reminds me so much of her creator! So glad to hear she made it through the firing with only a tiny bit of damage, and easy to fix. If you can bear to part with her, I hope she finds the most appreciative home possible where she will be enjoyed for generations to come.

The title reflects what I have been thinking lately. I try to find delight everywhere, no matter how tough life gets. I try to appreciate what I have, no matter how lonely life gets. By the way, the next piece I'm planning to work on will be you. Do you remember the pose you did for me? I'll use the photos again. The title will be "Blessed." Leave a Reply. |
